I bought this on a whim on a rainy day that I couldn't ride my own motorbike. It's a pamphlet more that a book and can be read in an hour or so. I have been an Aerostitch customer for a couple of years now and I find it interesting that they have put out a pamphlet that in many instances makes it ok NOT to buy the products that they sell. I am referring to the point in the book that they say that "Cheap generic leather gloves from home and farm stores work fine for riding if they fit your hand well. The same goes for the simple dome tents and the other lightweight camping gear available at discount stores." (1.)They also refer to military surplus equipment and many other things that they pedal in their catalog... but as a testament to their passion for our sport of motorcycling; it just goes to show how much the author loves the sport and wants anyone and everyone to be involved.
This pamphlet is worth every single penny if just for the resources listed in the back. From hotel and campground info to a list of websites and organizations that all work to promote safer and more enjoyable motorcycling. Well worth the money and time.

Lightweight Unsupported Motorcycle Travel for Terminal Cases Aerostich eBook Reviews
It gave some good websites and locations to go to but I didn't realize it was an ad for aerostitch. Though riding for years I really only became interested in a long tour recently. this book didn't really fill what I wanted totally but I guess if it had everything I wanted to know I guess I would have to write it as I learned. Not a bad read otherwise it goes quick.
Nice simple description of how the author has learned to effectively do motor camping on a motorcycle.
I was hoping this would be a good read, but really, it was just okay. Most of the info that wasn't appendices was common sense, and frankly, only a couple of items in the appendices merited a closer look.
After spending $3.00 on this, I wish that Aerostitch had included this in an order as a freebie, as they did in the past. I guess in the end, I feel suckered.
To each, his own though. Some folks think it's a great read, and my purchase was based on those recommendations.
Great info. Love Aerostich products.
It is worth a read but is getting fairly long in the tooth as touring technologies and products have improved since it was published. Really more of a pamphlet than a book but still some very good and timeless information included.
I've ridden all over the US of A on motorcycles. My first "big trip" was up the east coast into Canada and back to Las Vegas. When I started, by pack weighed 80lbs. Now I can pack a week trip into my jacket. I learned a lot of things the hard way that are affirmed in this publication. Even if you have a bagger, this pamphlet is worth perusing.
I was planning on ordering the paper version through Aerostich but I found this here on and decided to get it.
It's exactly what I was looking for, and it's something I already do. I like to pack up and go places.
It's a little outdated, but anyone that notices how it's outdated will also know the remedies for each issue.
There's helpful tips and examples of what kinds of circumstances you'll need things in. The most useful part I think is how it reinforces packing light.
